 Nice option for carrying your iPod around April 23, 2010

These socks are wonderful for carrying your iPod arround without having to spend too much money. However, I have the biggest iPod of all (iPod Classic 160 GB) and I had some trouble fitting it into the socks. There was a little section of the iPod which couldn't be covered by the sock, approx 3 mm. Despite this, I imagine that with time and use the fabric will expand and that should be no longer a problem. For the rest of the iPods, I believe you won't have any trouble.

Most iPhone/iPod cases add bulk and actually introduce scratches when you put them on and take them off. They also seem to trap lint, dirt, etc. between the case and the iPod/iPhone, which can also cause scratching. And they cover up the beauty and ergonomics of the devices.
I'm not prone to dropping things and I like to use naked iPods, iPhones, etc. So I went the sleeve route for protection.
I've tried other sleeves and they were too bulky and caused scratches from being too tight. I also tried the Boa for a week. It was very slim but it was too tight and took forever to get my iPhone out of it.
The socks fit all my iPods and my iPhone. The fabric keeps scratches from items in your pockets or purse away and cleans the oils and dirt from my iPhone 3G. They barely add any bulk, and they are not too loose or too tight.
I initially bought a set for $10 from one of the other vendors on Amazon. They sent me some knock-offs called iPod Nano Tubes. They were not as soft as the real ones and were too small for the iPhone. I went to the Apple store and got the originals.
After wasting money on other cases, I feel $30 for 6 socks is OK. The reasons being I am happy with the socks and I will probably not need to buy any more cases ever again even if I upgrade my devices.

Well, I guess I really don't get the point. If you don't want your iPod scratched w/use, put it in a case. Then it's covered WHILE you're using it and you can still work all the buttons. With this, you slide the bare-naked iPod out to use it - risking scratches from the sock itself and from dropping the iPod while it's out of the sock. I was hoping it would be large enough to slide my iPod into while it's in its case and hold one of those tiny thumbtack microphones so I wouldn't lose it. But my iPod nano 4th gen hangs out of it 1/4" when it's not in its case. So I'd risk the end getting scratched up and it's not long enough to close, so if it were in my pocket or purse it'd slip right out and....get scratched. So, again, what is the point?? I'm just glad I spent $2.78 on the set on eBay instead of paying Apple's price...

iPod socks keep your iPod protected while looking incredibly cool! In conjunction with some type of full body "shield" film, these do a fantastic job!! Great as a gift too.
